The Pimlott Foundation is a charity founded after the death of Steven Pimlott in 2007.
An internationally acclaimed theatre and opera director, Steven was also a talented and enthusiastic oboist. Living with his family in Great Horkesley, Essex, he regularly played with orchestras and ensembles throughout East Anglia. Steven had a passionate desire to bring this music to a wider audience which prompted his family, friends and fellow musicians to start the Pimlott Foundation and fulfil his dream. This has been possible thanks to the incredibly generous donations already received.
The charity’s aim is to promote all music in the area by:
- Funding performances in buildings of historic interest in East Anglia.
- Encouraging and enabling young musicians to perform as soloists and in ensembles.
- The performance of Bach Cantatas and other liturgical music within church services.
The charity is solely funded through ticket sales and the kind generosity of its supporters.
